Personal information
Dena is a registered counsellor and provisional clinical member of the Singapore Association of Counselling. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at York St John University (UK) and is completing her placement as a Trainee Counselling Psychologist at Mind Culture. She also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, a Diploma in Learning Disorders Management and Child Psychology, and a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from the National University of Singapore. She is also a certified trainer and assessor of The Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) qualification.
As a mother of special needs children who have now grown up and pursued tertiary education, Dena’s passion for counselling, clinical assessment, and counselling psychology has deepened. She is dedicated to helping others understand and overcome their struggles. Dena has gained valuable experience through her work and volunteer roles in organizations prioritizing special needs, special care to those facing life challenges such as griefing, loss and addictions. She hopes to bring this passion and experiences to support Mind Culture’s clients and partners. Together, we can improve lives.
Dena is fluent in English, Mandarin and can converse in dialects such as Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien. She is learning Bahasa Melayu and Indonesian so she can help more people. She has 3 children and 2 fur kids, a cat and a dog. She always enjoys seeing how well they play together without boundaries. She believes love has no boundaries.
Dena is a Trainee Counselling Psychologist (Doctorate student); Master in Counselling; Trained in counselling psychology, learning disorders, child psychology and CBT. Member of Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC) and ACTA Trainer.
